SIG P385: Release Date, Price, Models and Specs
SIG Sauer unveiled the P385 on September 22, 2026 at its invitation-only SIG NEXT event: a ground-up, striker-fired 9mm built around a new recoil system, a low bore axis and a removable fire control unit. There are five models. Here's everything SIG has actually published, model by model, and what it hasn't published yet.
SIG P385 at a glance
- Announced: September 22, 2026, at SIG NEXT (SIG press release).
- Release date: SIG says the P385 "will be available in stores this fall and early winter." As of Oct 17, 2026, SIG lists every model as coming soon, and we haven't confirmed one in stock.
- Price: SIG hasn't published an MSRP for any P385 model, so we list them as TBA. Some retailers already show prices, but those aren't SIG's numbers.
- Models: P385-CARRY, P385-COMPACT, P385-FULL, P385-COMP and P385-MACH3D, each in black or coyote.
- Caliber: 9mm Luger.
What's new about the P385
SIG calls the P385 "developed from the ground up," and its launch release lists the features that set it apart:
- SIG Recoil Dampening System plus a low bore axis. SIG claims muzzle rise drops "by 20 percent or more, depending on the specific P385 model."
- A new fire control unit (FCU) with a new SIG Sauer Trigger Block, which SIG says gives a smooth, clean press.
- MagStrap grip module for adjusting grip length and fit to hand size.
- Precision-cut carbon steel barrel.
- SIG-LOC optic-ready slides on every model, so you can mount an optic without a plate.
- Fully ambidextrous controls, with an optional manual thumb safety.
- P320-compatible magazines, according to SIG's product pages. If you already run a P320, your mags carry over.
Every P385 model compared
All figures come from SIG's product pages. Weights include a magazine, as SIG lists them.
| Model | Barrel | Length | Weight | Magazines | MSRP | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| P385-CARRY | 4 in | 7.22 in | 28.94 oz | 17 and 21 rd (or 2x10) | Not yet announced | Announced |
| P385-COMPACT | 3.7 in (spec table) or 4 in (SIG copy) | 6.6 in | 22 oz (spec table) | 15 rd per SIG copy; 17 rd per spec table | Not yet announced | Announced |
| P385-FULL | 4.7 in | 7.92 in | 29.6 oz | 17 and 21 rd (or 2x10) | Not yet announced | Announced |
| P385-COMP | 4 in, integrally compensated slide | 7.9 in | 29.12 oz | 17 and 21 rd (3 mags) or 3x10 | Not yet announced | Announced |
| P385-MACH3D | 3.9 in with MACH3D compensator | 7.87 in | 30.56 oz | 17 and 21 rd (3 mags) or 3x10 | Not yet announced | Announced |
SIG's own pages disagree in two places. For the P385-COMPACT, its launch copy says a 4-inch barrel and two 15-round magazines, while its spec table shows a 3.7-inch barrel and 17-round magazines. For the P385-FULL, one SKU row lists a 7.2-inch overall length while the others list 7.92 inches; we use 7.92. We'll update when SIG corrects them.
P385-CARRY
The middle of the lineup: a 4-inch barrel on a 7.22-inch gun that weighs 28.94 ounces with a magazine. SIG lists it at 5.64 inches tall and 1.32 inches wide. It ships with 17- and 21-round magazines, or two 10-rounders where capacity limits apply. For most people shopping a do-everything carry and home-defense 9mm, this is the one to watch.
P385-COMPACT
The smallest P385 at 6.6 inches long. Until SIG reconciles its barrel and capacity figures, treat the COMPACT's specs as provisional. If deep concealment is your priority, also see our roundup of new micro-compact and CCW pistols.
P385-FULL
The longest barrel in the family at 4.7 inches, and 29.6 ounces with a magazine. It's the natural duty and home-defense pick if you don't want a compensator.
P385-COMP
A 4-inch barrel with an integrally compensated slide, 7.9 inches long. Note that SIG's product URL for this model is "p385-integrated-comp"; its "p385-comp" URL actually serves the COMPACT page.
P385-MACH3D
The competition-leaning flagship, with a MACH3D compensator on a 3.9-inch barrel and 30.56 ounces with a magazine. SIG lists 1.45 inches wide and packages with its new XRAY5 and ROMEO-X optics.
SIG P385 price: why we list TBA
We publish only a manufacturer's own MSRP. As of Oct 17, 2026, SIG's product pages list the P385 models as coming soon with no price. A few retailers have posted pre-order prices, but those are retailer numbers, and they could change before guns ship. When SIG publishes MSRPs, they go into the table above and onto each model's page.
P385 vs P320 and P211
The P385 doesn't replace anything SIG has announced. It shares P320 magazines, but SIG describes the P385 as an all-new design with its own FCU, recoil system and grip module. At the same event, SIG expanded its single-action P211 line with the P211-FULL (Not yet announced) and P211-CARRY (Not yet announced), which have a polymer grip module over an aluminum frame. If you want a striker gun with P320 mag compatibility and a softer-shooting design, look at the P385. If you want a single-action trigger, look at the P211.
