The 2026 suppressor landscape
No category benefited more from 2026's changes than suppressors. Since January 1, 2026, the federal NFA tax on suppressors is $0, and on October 9, 2026 ATF said it would no longer enforce NFA approval, registration or tax-stamp requirements for suppressors. You still fill out a Form 4473 and pass a NICS check at the dealer. Makers responded with new cans: Taurus entered the market with its titanium TTX line, Dead Air added the Ruger-licensed RXD910Ti, HUXWRX announced the Flow 762 Ti, and SureFire showed the SOCOM6-Mini4.
Picks by use case
Picks are based on maker specs, MSRP and verified status. We haven't sound-meter tested these cans.
Best rimfire can: Taurus TTX22
A 3D-sintered titanium monocore rated for .22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 HMR and 5.7x28mm, at $299.99 (announced). Per Taurus, it needs no disassembly to clean.
Best 9mm and pistol-caliber can: Dead Air RXD910Ti
A 3D-printed titanium can optimized for 9mm and also rated for 10mm, .357, 5.7x28, .300 BLK and more, at 11.4 ounces with piston, per Dead Air ($999, announced).
Best .30-caliber rifle can: HUXWRX Flow 762 Ti
A flow-through titanium can rated up to .300 Win Mag that's designed to work without gas-system changes. If you want a single maker family, the Taurus TTX series includes the TTX30 rated from .300 BLK to .300 Win Mag.
Specialized: SureFire SOCOM6-Mini4
Built for 6mm ARC hosts. TFB reports it isn't currently sold on the civilian side, so treat it as one to watch.
Suppressor terms that matter
Ratings. Each can is approved for specific calibers. For example, Dead Air lists the RXD910Ti for 9mm, 10mm, .357, 5.7x28, .300 BLK and more. Never exceed the maker's caliber, barrel-length or full-auto limits.
Materials. Titanium (like the 3D-printed or sintered cans here) keeps weight down. Steel and Inconel generally tolerate more heat and abuse at the cost of weight. Rimfire cans get dirty fast, so look for designs that are easy to clean. Taurus says the TTX22 needs no disassembly.
Mounts. Direct-thread cans screw onto the barrel. Quick-detach systems use a muzzle device and let one can move between rifles. Pistol cans often use a booster (piston) to cycle tilting-barrel pistols. The RXD910Ti includes one, per Dead Air.
Backpressure. Suppressors increase gas blowback on semi-autos. Flow-through designs like the HUXWRX Flow 762 Ti aim to reduce it without gas-system changes, according to the maker.
What the 2026 rule changes mean for buyers
With the $0 tax and ATF's October 9 enforcement change, buying a suppressor looks a lot more like buying any other firearm at your dealer: a Form 4473 and a background check. That's a historic win for hearing protection. But state law still governs, so a can that's legal federally may be banned where you live. Keep your receipt and dealer paperwork. For the full timeline and sources, read our NFA updates.
Buying tips
Start with your main host and caliber. A .30-caliber can will mount on a .223 but adds weight, and a dedicated rimfire can is the cheapest way to start. Pick a mounting system and stick with it across your rifles. Know your state law: some states still ban or restrict suppressors, and hunting with one is regulated state by state. Read our NFA updates for the full timeline.
What to watch next
Most of the suppressors here are still in the announced stage in our data, so check each product page before you order. With the federal tax gone and registration enforcement paused, we expect more makers to announce new cans, especially around SHOT Show 2027. We'll add each one with its maker source, MSRP and ratings, and track it until it ships. Planning a build? Pair a can with a host from our new rifles of 2026 or a threaded pistol from the best new handguns guide.

How we chose
Every product in this guide comes from our release database, which tracks new products from first announcement to shipping. To make the list, a product had to be announced for the 2026 model year (or announced in late 2025 for 2026 availability) and have a cited maker or trade-press source. We then grouped products by the job they're built for, using the maker's published specs, and weighed manufacturer MSRP and verified shipping status. If two products did the same job, we favored the one you can actually buy today.
We haven't range-tested these products, and we don't claim to have. Our picks are editorial judgments based on published data, and we say when something is only announced. Prices are manufacturer MSRPs from cited sources, and street prices are often lower once a product has been shipping for a while. Status comes from our latest dated check, shown on each product page.
